Selah 2011
Selah Praise Band’s liturgical music is a combination of contemporary praise music and traditional liturgical music. The group uses a variety of instruments including guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums. Selah always welcomes new members that are in 11th grade or older. You do not have to read music to join the band. New members are welcome to attend several rehearsals anytime just to “try us out”. Come and let the Spirit move you!
Selah provides music ministry at the Sunday 9:00am liturgy from Labor Day weekend through the first Sunday in June. Selah also provides music ministry for the monthly healing mass held the first Wednesday of each month (September through June) at OLP, and participates in other liturgical events throughout the year. Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.

More about the Band
“Let the Spirit move you!”
The “OLP Folk Group” begun in 1970 has evolved into Selah Praise Band of today, but the message in the music remains the same: “Let the Spirit move you to sing God’s praises.” And that is exactly what Selah does. Selah Praise Band shares this message here at Our Lady of Peace at the 9:00am Mass each Sunday. Over the last few years, Selah has also had the opportunity to share this message at various events throughout the Erie area including the Festival of Trees, the Relay for Life, and the LEAF Arts at the Arboretum concert series. At each concert or liturgy, Selah strives to spread the message of Jesus Christ through contemporary spirit-filled music.
In December of 2005, Selah Praise Band released its first CD, “We are one Body”, a collection of fourteen praise and worship songs. In December of 2007, Selah Praise Band released its second CD, “Love Has Come” It consists of a collection of praise and worship songs for Christmas. The selections include prayerful melodies, traditional carols and spirit-filled praise songs. In May of 2011, their third CD was released, “Sing for Joy”. This CD consists of uplifting praise and worship songs. All three CD’s are available for purchase in the church office or from band members.
Selah Praise Band always welcomes new instrumentalists and vocalists. If you are called by the Spirit to participate in this rewarding ministry, come and “Let the Spirit move you!”
